Most Memorable DDS Experience: At an AYUDA Freshman year, I was working at the Diagnosis station and I had the honor of being the very first pre-dental student to diagnose a patient. I had a six year old boy and I counted his teeth and checked for caries. It was a joyful experience I will never forget.
What I Do in DDS: Right now I have the honor of serving as President of DDS, after having been Communications Director for the past two years. I conduct general meetings, as well as those for the Executive Board, and work as a liaison between DDS and our advisers, Dental Schools, speakers, as well as other Dental Clubs. I am in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly and seeing that all members are helped and taken care of. I am looking forward to a wonderful year! :-)

Most Memorable DDS Experience: the first DDS social I attended - bowling. By going to DDS socials, I was able to make lasting friendships with other pre-dents. The social was a lot of fun, I had a lot of good memories, and afterwards, I began to feel a sense of belonging in DDS! Moral of the story: go to DDS socials!
What I Do in DDS: As Vice President, I'm Sable's right hand (wo)man! I will be in charge of coordinating rotations at the USC School of Dentistry for the upcoming year and helping the executive board ensure that DDS is running smoothly.

Most Memorable DDS Experience: I still remember exactly my first day
at Ayuda clinic, where I had a chance to meet many DDS members and
also USC dental students. They have helped and supported me a lot
during my last two years at USC, and they are now all my great friends
and college buddies for life. What I like most about DDS is that we
all share the same interest and passion in dentistry and we help each
other in our education. "Sharing is Caring" :] DDS ROCKS
What I Do in DDS: I'm your Treasurer and I'm responsible for the
financial aspects of the organization. My other responsibilities
include designing t-shirt, ordering scrubs, and planning banquet.

Most Memorable DDS Experience: Defeating AED in Overtime at Scrubs Bowl in 09-10.
What I Do in DDS: To help promote the importance of dental health with my peers specifically at events such as AYUDA clinic, Spread the Smile, and for organizations such as A Better LA. One of my goals is to get to know everyone in our club throughout the year and encourage everyone to get involved in our community!

Most memorable DDS experience: Winning the free kaplan DAT course and DDS social events. What I Do in DDS: I am mainly in charge of the weekly Spread the Smile Campaign (SSC). SSC is a weekly DDS volunteer event (lasts for about 1 hour in the morning) where we go to local elementary schools and teach students about oral hygiene, including good eating habits, and proper brushing/flossing techniques. I also welcome any other ideas relating to community volunteer events (it doesn't have to be dentistry-related) that you all might know of and would like to participate in. Let me know and we'll try to work something out!

Most Memorable DDS Experience: It was the year 2007 and I attended my very first Ayuda Clinic. One of the 3rd or 4th year dental students needed someone to assist them but there were no 1st or 2nd year students available at the time. So, as a freshman, I had the opportunity to assist chair-side for a couple of patients. I felt pretty cool and I was so excited.
What I Do in DDS: Presently, I serve as DDS Co-Activities Chair for the Year 2010-2011. My duties include providing food at every meeting, planning social activities and ice-breakers, organizing community service events and making sure each and every DDS member has a fun and satisfying year.

What I Do in DDS: As one of the Activities Chairs, I create and schedule social events, order food for meetings, manage the annual LA Food Bank food drive, and purchase gifts for the member of the month/year.

Most Memorable DDS Experience: My most memorable experience would have to be my first social. I remember feeling a huge sigh of relief as I realized that everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Don't be afraid to hang out with us!
What I Do in DDS: As communications director, handle all emails related to DDS--I find answers to questions, relay information from the executive board to the members and vice versa--and I coordinate AYUDA trips.

Most Memorable DDS Experience: At a volunteer health fair at USC, a family of about 6 came to our booth to have their kids learn more about dental hygiene. I was able to speak to the four children in Spanish, in regards to teaching them about how brushing teeth can be fun. After wards their mom told me she was happy to see someone willing to reach out and speak to them in Spanish as many had shied away at the first sight of their inability to speak more than a few words like hello, etc. This touched me and right then and there I knew I could be a Dentist that will break down the walls of race and language and bring dental care to those less fortunate in our global society.
